what is everyone thought on buying expensive audio on line for a really good price without a factory warrantries, they say new in box, not b stock or open stock. as i'am looking at a yamaha 5890/$414.99-5990/$635.99 @ bajangles.com they only offer a 10 day return. seam to be a big risk or not? to do or not to do is the question.

Do your research, I always like to call and talk to the people on the phone. Ask them questions, how long you been in business, what is the return policy and so on. Do a google search on them and see if their name shows up on another message board or something. Good Luck.

I only buy from known reputable sites. If it seems way too good to be true, it probably is. If it's a site that I am unsure of, I always check ResellerRatings to see what has been said there.

90% of my online purchases have been from Newegg.com. They have the most outstanding customer service I have ever come accross. They specialize in PC stuff though.

I have purchased stuff from 6 Ave Electronics and have found their service to be very good along with Crutchfield. I have also purchased from Etronics and have had no problems there. B&H Photo, AV123, and OneCall have good reputations as well but I have never purchased from them. Ascendant Audio has become my source for DIY sub/speaker drivers. I am highly impressed with their products and service.

Of course there are many reputable sites out there. As others have and will say, do your research. :)

I don't trust the reviews at sites like Pricegrabber at all. It's a free-for-all there. ResellerRatings requires verification of purchase and an account with them before posting a review. The reviews there are much more credible. If a site isn't even on ResellerRatings, I get suspicious. I can't find Bajangles.com there and I have never heard of it myself.

I love PriceGrabber for comparison shopping but I don't trust their reviews at all.
