Olevia Slow To Turn On

I have an Olevia LT20S. A few days ago I noticed that it would take 30 seconds for the picture to come up after pressing the power button on the remote. There also seemed to be an issue with the volume and channel buttons being slow to respond or being totally unresponsive. The remote batteries are new.

At first I thought it was the IR reader in the TV or maybe the remote. Just last night I observed that the power button on the TV would also produce a delayed turn on time and the remote did infact work, just unreliably.

I bought the TV because of it's ability to double as a monitor with the same resolution that I use with a 17" LCD. So I am looking for input regarding whether or not this delayed turn on is an easy fix and if not, will it still be practical to use it as a monitor? Evidently my computer will handle 2 monitors. I did have the the Brightness and Contrast at "Torch Levels" for a couple of months and might have cooked it. I'm pretty new to this so it's safe to assume that I know next to nothing. Thanks.

So does my Toshiba. I would look at it as a "boot up " process.

All these things are are really a fancy, dedicated purpose computer anyway.

It does say this in my manual and they provide a "thumb-sucker" display where a yellw light blinks several series of three blinlks before finally turning blus, followed by a grey screen for a second or so and, finally, the picture.

To clarify let me say that I am only using it as a TV now. The delayed "on" started a few days ago and is accompanied by another delay when using the numeric channel buttons as opposed to channel + or -. That makes it tough to use it for double digit channels like 25.

I may use it as a monitor later, especially if it continues to be a pain as a TV. Finding an inexpensive fix would be good as I had not planned to spring for a new bedroom TV. This one is barely over a year old. I see a call to the manufacturer in my future but thought I would get some insight here first. This is not a normal delay for boot up. It's like the thing got stupid or uncooperative in the last few days.

Fixed it!

It occured to me that unplugging some electronics makes some of them reset so I tried it and it worked.
