Older Excellent sub vs new affordable?

Hi All, I'm considering the purchase of an Infinity Intermezzo 1.2 which was produced 2001-2002 and is in excellent condition. Now, this Intermezzo is in my price range. I had an Infinity Interlude (IL100s) and was always very happy with this little brother to the Intermezzo. Reviews of the Intermezzo from it's production time are impressive. However, the Intermezzo, is 13-14 years old. Would the same $ be better spent on something new of comparable price from SVS, Outlaw, or HSU?
Would love to build one, but I just don't have the time.
My home theater is a bit of a hodge-podge. My fronts are Paradigm Monitor 9, surrounds are Klipsch satellites, and my center is a Paradigm cc-170.

The real question is, what is the price range? That will make a bigger difference in what people will recommend IMO. If it is overpriced for used, probably better off with a new unit. If it is a good price, you may not be able to find something better for the price.

$750 is my price range. Intermezzo's MSRP was $1800 when it was new, though I'm sure it sold for less even when it was new.
I should also add that the room is rather large. Not a high ceiling but finished basement that runs full length of my house, at least 2500 cubic feet of space.

I would skip the Intermezzo, it has some nice features, but much of that stuff you will get on your AVR and modern subs. It is pretty old, so I would expect to be replacing its amplifier soon, and you will not be able to get the original amp, you will need to buy a generic amp which will not have all those features. At $750, I would be looking at a Outlaw Audio Ultra X12 or EMP Tek I-12/e. I don't think the Intermezzo would have any advantage over those. If you want something that will really knock you out, up your budget a tad and get a Hsu VTF3 mk5, that will hugely outperform the intermezzo sub.

At $750 you are definitely better off with a new sub such as those mentioned. SVS or HSU are always good bets, especially at that price point.
