Greetings to All, I am trying to set up my first system in a long time. Things have changed just a little bit since the 70's. -- LOL I have my home built computer running through a Sherwood amp to a set of old Polk monitor 10's. They still sound pretty darn good, but I would like to add surround sound. So I am trying to buy used amp and more speakers. I think I am in the right place, looks like you folks give good honest information. I am here to learn.
Thank You
Cuggie

Welcome to the forum Cuggie! Start by auditioning speakers and go from there. Is there anything about the Sherwood and/or Polks you don't like? That might help narrow the list of speaker brands to check out.

Welcome.

If you are planning to keep your Polks, try to find Polk speakers for center channel and surround as well. I gather you will use your computer as the surround processor, or looking for an outboard processor?

That sounds like a nice inexpensive stereo setup. I wish my life was that simple.

This is the right forum for your question, indeed. I've read over several postings and the community sure knows their stuff!
