I posted a question previously about an obsolete Macintosh MHT200 av controller, wondering if I could use the preamp section with a new dedicated amp. I realize now, I would have no room correction, nor any of the new audio codecs. But could I use the amp section of that Mac with a new pre/pro that has all the latest bells and whistles?

You could, but I doubt it is worth it. The amp sections does not seem that impressive. You can do it as the unit has pre to power amp jumpers.

So you would remove the jumpers and connect the source to the RCA phono jacks on the power amp side of the jumpers.
