Hi Guys,
Needed some input from you guys regarding a couple of doubts that I have.

In curtpalme.com, we come across Box1020 RGB and the like which are called gamma boosters. I am using a HDMI input to my samsung for both the DVD and Cablebox. Is there a gamma booster for HDMI per se?

Also, I did calibrate my TV with AVIA disc and I1 Display 2 probe. I calibrated that via DVD and How do I calibrate it for the signals from the Cable box?

thanks in advance

Basically the Box1020 RGB ($139) just converts the video format from RGB to Component (YPbPr). Yes it does say "Adjustable Low Level Black Boost (Gamma Boost): The Box1020 adds gamma adjustment to the HDfury signal for absolutely perfect shadow detail when using *either* component or RGB output. The Box1020 is the only solution offering gamma boost on component output!" "LBB can be used in both the component conversion output and the RGB pass-through output to operate as a stand-alone RGB-RGB Low-Level Black Boost device. (See also Box1021 for this functionality)."

Lack of black depth is one of the negatives about LCD compared to Plazma.

So HDMI to RGB to Box1020 RGB to HDMI

RGB to HDMI $69.

Sure is a whole lot of conversion! I don't think I would do it. I have LCD and the balck depth seems okay. You would probably be better off to think about a high contrast plasmaTV in the future.

Oh yes the caliibration is for the TV itself not necessarily the video source; you should still be okay!
