I have been thinking about pitting this up for quite a while. Just my two cents. I am 75 and go back to the days of building Heathkits among others so I try to get the most bang for my buck. I have been lucky to have had a great audio dealer in my area and he has given me some wonderful deals over the years (he is now out of business).

He sold me all of my speakers except for the Orb's I use in my music/computer room. He took me to his back room one day and said listen to these. These turned out to be Phase Technolgy 9.1 floor standers selling for $2000.00 way out of my price range. They were left by a rep and he sold them to me for $500.00! On top of that, he sold me a Phase Tech 3.1 Series ll for my center channel. All told it came to $750.00.

So I have had these for quite some time but they aren't the oldest speakers I use as I have two Paradigm 7SE MKII's that are going on nearly 30 years and sound wonderful. I have a pair of Acoustic Research Conniseur 19's that I bought in the 1980's.

I did upgrade a bit by purchasing a Paradigm PDR12 subwoofer to go along with the one I already had. Two subs do make quite a difference. They may not be the most powerful or punchy but they sure are smooth and give me all the bass I want. I picked up the last one on eBay for $119.00. Worth every cent.

I use two turntables a Denon DP-40F and a Pioneer PL-540 that I have had since the 1970's. Everything works great. All of my receivers are from accessories4less and I have never had a problem There are four systems in my home all powered by Onkyo and Yamaha. The other speakers in the house are Paradigm Atoms, a PDR8 subwoofer, and a Phase Tech 10 sub. I did buy an Oppo 93 a few years ago.

My point is I don't see changing anything just for change sake. I am not against getting new anything but I am pretty sure I wouldn't be any happier with different equipment and it has all served me very well. I wonder how many out there share my view on speakers and audio equipment.
