More subwoofers won't help surround effects. If you are not getting good surround effect, I suggest your try different source media (blu-ray movies etc.) first because how they were recorded/mastered mostly determine what you hear. If it is in fact due to deficiencies in your system, then make sure your speakers are positioned in the recommended positions for the 5.1.2 Atmos setup. After that, you may look into replacing the AV receiver. Anything from Denon's AVR-X3X00H, Marantz SR-601X and Yamaha RX-A20X0 and up should be better than your Pioneer, though I think for your speakers, you can do better with the AVR-X4300H or SR6012 or higher models. I prefer D&M models because of the very decent Audyssey Room EQ system especially their dynamic EQ feature.

Describe more about what you mean by not getting good surround effect. Different avrs may have some different dsp choices but as was said mostly it's what you start with, what format do you get Netflix in and via what device?

I don't know about Netflix USA, I do know Netflix Canada doesn't offer the best sound quality. I am not aware that they offer Atmos. May be you should try playing the same movie on blu ray and see if you like it better.

Dolby Surround- 7.1format
Or
Dolby Atmos-5.1.2 format

Again, I would like to emphasize two points:

1. Netflix appears to have limited titles mastered in Dolby Atmos. So for movie titles that are not, you won't get the best effect, but I assumed you knew that already.

2. Even in 5.1 DD+, I have found the overall sound effects/quality when watching Netflix is consistently not as good as (not even close) when watching the same title on a Blu ray disc. That's why I suggested you try and watch the same movies on Blu ray using your blu ray player for comparison. Remember too, DD+ is inherently of lower quality than DDTHD and DTS-HD MA etc.

Your system setup is likely fine, your media source, in this case Netflix could be the bottleneck and/or there is something not right about your Fire Stick settings.

What output levels to you get with the set up test tones?

If these are OK, the problem is the source. Since it is India we can't trust any streaming.

Use a a well know BD disc. I suspect your receiver is fine.

You leaving that at 5.1 or matrixing it to 7.1? What sound modes are you using?
You know more than me on this, but if his firestick is connected directly to the tv, he is sending audio through either digital, arc, or stereo to his receiver. He would be limited on formats (you seem more familar with formats that can be passsed, isn't 5.1 compressed over digital and arc?) the firestick, preferably a firebox, should be connected to his receiver via hdmi to pass audio formats

LOL I don't know about that, but hopefully his firestick is connected to his avr. It's like pulling teeth to get this guy to talk about his setup or what he's experiencing or what he thinks it's lacking particularly (what is he comparing it to?). I hadn't even considered ARC or what his tv might be throttling audio-wise. He indicates he's getting DD+ but he doesn't say the how/where (hopefully it's being received at the receiver this way). You're right, ARC/optical connections will be via a lossy format in 5.1 at best and could be limited to 2.0 depending on tv.

For all we know he thinks equal volume should come out of each speaker all the time or something....

ARC is way overrated and gives you the same audio as the optical cable. Had to look up Profigold, tho.
