Not able to hear some sounds from LRC speakers.

I have noticed this from a while and had not been able to put a finger on it, I keep subtitles on for most of the movies at night times when kids need to be in bed. I have noticed that I can see subtitles reading but there is no sound or dialogue coming from LRC. I have a 5.1.4 setup on Pioneer VSX-LX303 but had same issue with Sony DH750.

I am guessing that the surrounds should have picked the sound but not sure. Any advice will be much appreciated.

If this only happens rarely and usually with background chatter it might just be that the sound is very very very low so you dont hear it. It might be missing also but usually its quiet whisper low and if low volume its i audible.
Try same part during the day and increase the volume quite a lot to check.
If very rare its unlikly to be anything wrong with your system, just too low volume to hear.

I occasionally use subtitles, and have noticed not only mis-timings between on-screen and the subtitle, and sometimes they're just wrong as to what was said. I wouldn't worry about it.
