Noob interconnect question

I have a lot of component video cables kicking around now that I have gone to HDMI. While none were very expensive they seem to be thicker and have better plugs at the ends than my cheap RCA cords with the moulded ends. Is there any reason that would prevent me from using these as RCA connects for the analog outs (the L/R and the 5.1)on my DVD/CD player?

Thanks

Barry

Yeah, what he said :) Video cable's spec is a bit more strict than that of analog audio, and as a result, they are completely interchangeable.
