Noob here...needing some knowledge on Projectors

Hi all..

Been searching hi and low for some help with setting up my home theater. Just got a Mistubishi HC900 Projector and having some issues with it. Any advice or direction would be great.

It helps if you tell us what your issues are and what you are trying to do as well as your sources (dvd players etc.). The more information known the more you can be helped.

Hi there...

So here's my set up. Comcast HD box and Denon DVD 3910. The comast is in component input the dvd in HDMI/DVI. Unit powers on..green light...status light green. Picture comes up...1080i display...beautiful...then blank goes the screen and power light goes red..status light blinks green. After about 3-4 minutes status light goes out press power and same scenario.

Does this error happen from both the comcast and the dvd player or is it just the cable box? If it is the cable box you should call comcast and have them update your firmware or atleast see what they say. Also, have you tried contacting Mitsu?

It happens on all sources. I called Mitsu and they think it's the lamp. Wanted to get some input before I drop 300.00 on a new lamp.

Well its most likely what mitsu said but shouldnt your projector be under warranty? If you got it from a B&M store try and exchange it if you got it online see what mitsu and their warranty will do for you. Doesn't sound like you should be spending money to repair something you just bought.

That unit was new in '05, Im sure he probably bought it used...
Thats too bad that it needs a bulb if thats the case. Nothing like getting a deal on something to find out later why you got such a good deal...

Ohh, I was under the impression it was just out of the box. Might actually need a bulb then.
