apologies if something like this has been posted already. Here is what i have:

- samsung ln-46a550 tv
- comcast cable box
- ps3
- xbox360
- onkyo ht-r320 receiver

The reciever is old school and does not have any hdmi connections. What is the best option that i have for this setup? currently i have everything connected to the tv with hdmi and havnt really used the receiver. Looking for a solution to be able to take advantage of using the reciever and getting the surround sound again wihtout any loss of audio and features.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum!

Running the video through your TV sounds like a good idea with your equipment. As for the audio portion, you could run other audio connections to the receiver. I'm downloading the owner's manual now to get a better feel for how to go about that. You may also get good results by simply connecting the digital audio output from the TV to the receiver - you'd select which source to watch/hear through the TV, but the sound would come from the receiver and its speakers.

I'll update this as required once I get and read through the manual for the Onkyo.

thanks for looking into it. iv been told by a few that usin hdmi for video and optical for audio is the best way to go. someone suggested getting an optical cable swtitch since my receiver only has one input. Thanks
