I'm copying/pasting this from another site which I posted this to...

So, I've been talking up this projector several times after someone linked to it and I went exploring. I recommended it to some people, but wasn't sure how it looked or sounded or anything else. A few decent reviews are already out there, but they look to be from early in the product's life cycle.

The driving force of this model is that it is currently priced at $100 on Amazon for a 1080p projector that is pushing about 300 lumens of brightness. This realistically puts it in direct competition for about every single no-name cheap Chinese model that so many people have issues with.

I've only used it a few hours. Watched Alien Romulus on it.

I'm not going to lie and say the projector is the most amazing thing ever. It's not. It doesn't match my HT2050a, or my LG Cinebeam Q projectors. But, those are far more expensive.

I will say that it fairly improves upon my Happrun H1 though. Not by a mile, but certain is better.

Most notably, the noise of this projector is in line with a laptop fan or a similarly mostly quiet fan. With audio going, you basically don't notice it. During quiet passages, you do, but it is a low whirr and didn't bother me at all. And I am a person who is bothered by excessive fan noise.

The image was put on my 110" Silver Ticket matte white screen in my unfinished basement setup and I set it up using the supplied infrared remote easily enough. It is kind of weird since you lift and adjust a mirror to shine the image onto the screen. So, getting the angle perfect wasn't super easy, but was fine enough. Focus is adjusted on the unit itself with a slider up/down switch. That was probably my biggest complaint is that focus is twitchy and could be much better. It seemed to pass by optimal focus many times before I got it right. But, once it was right, the image was reasonably sharp across the entire screen. I would want to play with it some more and try to dial in focus to see if I can improve upon it further.

There is a Nomvdic app store which allowed me to just download using the wireless connection. I didn't have to create an account, or anything like that. I just connected to my home's wi-fi and it allowed me to download apps. Their VERY limited app store has Netflix, but does not have things like Amazon Prime or Disney+. A shame. But, I did download both Plex and Netflix and I used my Plex to watch Alien. It should be noted that it took a while to download and install the app, which means the smart operating system is a fair bit underpowered. But, it does work.

Starting the movie up, the first thing I noticed was that the sound was significantly better than what I have heard on any other projector I've used to this point except (maybe) an XGimi model I tried a few years ago. It's better than the comparably priced Happrun H1, and far better than the LG Cinebeam Q. As a product designed as both a portable speaker AND a projector, it makes sense that the speaker would be good, but it was still nice to get that solid audio upgrade included with it.

The image itself was solid and had a very DLP feel to it. Crisp and excellent handling of motion. The black levels weren't perfection, but seemed similar to other DLP models I have used over the years. Maybe a bit more elevated on the black floor, but not objectionable for sure. It lit up my 110" screen reasonably well. It is no light cannon for sure. It is bright enough to enjoy though and while I appreciated the 110" image, it may have been better at closer to 100" or a bit less.

At this point, I haven't even hooked my Roku/Firestick up to it to test out other apps with it or hooked it up to watch some sports or do some gaming. I just wanted to throw out to all of those who are wondering what a great cheap projector can be, this is it. This is the one that I would absolutely call the 'best bang for the buck' on a budget. I will be using it more over the next couple of weeks, but I hope that anyone who is looking at models like the HY300 or Wanbo instead choose a proper DLP projector with good onboard audio. The difference is absolutely worth it for the solid quality and really good onboard audio.

Oh, and it IS battery powered as well and can be run from USB-C. So, more points for it I suppose since most of the cheap models don't include any battery.

Let me know if you have questions or something you want me to try out.
