Noise cancelling headphones

Is listening to music via noise cancelling headphones analygis to listening to music in an anoechic chamber?

depends, but in general nowhere near. it blocks monotonous sounds, but only slightly reduce everything else.
ie: Hum/buzz would near silent, but the human speech/dog branking/baby crying you'd hear very well.
