No Sound from Sub

I have a Polk PSW650 sub and a pioneer vsx55-txi receiver. When i run the test tone on the reciever to calibrate the system i get sound out of the sub. When I play movies I do not hear anything coming from the sub. Any thoughts?

If it plays during the test tones then it would seem to be setup correctly in the reciever, which means your player's settings need to be looked at. What type of connection do you have between the receiver and the player?
