I just bought SVS PB 2000. Wanted to replace my old damages Monitor bronze. after unboxing i tried to setup and spent a couple of days but there is no sound from it . I have tried all permutations and combinations. I even took the basic test of unhooking the Av end of subwoofer cable and try to rub it but there is no sound. The front green light on the subwoofer is on. My old subwofer is working with the same connections. The dealer says that it they sent it after testing. any suggestions. Sending back to the dealer in India is a painful and lengthy time consuming task.

Hook a source directly into the sub, like a CD player, and see if you get sound. Also check the avr to make sure your speakers are set to small.

Hopefully the Internal Sub Amp didn't die. Hopefully you'll figure something out. Hook a direct source to the sub. If still not working, I think it's probably the Sub Amp.

For future, keep the PASSIVE subwoofers in mind as an option. That way you can use an external subwoofer amp and not have to worry the INTERNAL subwoofer amp.

You may want to take the driver out and see if the wire going to the driver didn't somehow get unhooked?

I'd look inside like Shadyj suggests, but you may have just been screwed by an unscrupulous dealer with this used sub, or do I misunderstand why they needed to "test" rather than deliver it as factory delivered? Was it in SVS packaging? If this dealer is an authorized SVS dealer and it is a new unit I would certainly contact SVS....

For sure. I've dealt with SVS a few times and their customer service is outstanding. As long as it was an authorized dealer they'll honor the 5 year warranty.

Seriously, I have no life.
Check that a connector has not come off the woofer. That is really the only problem that you can solve.

Is this a new sub from an authorized dealer, or a "I sell to you for less I buy myself" transaction.

Thank you all for your help. Problem is that I am from India where there are no official dealers for any quality home theater products . You have to trust the dealer. I think the sub is new. I wrote to SVS people and like you all said they were very prompt in replying. This is what they have to say-

"Since the sub has a light we are not sure if the problem is the amp or the driver (both of which are user-replaceable if required, no need to ship the entire sub) or possibly just a loose connection. So please remove the amplifier per the attached instructions.

Once the amp is removed, please check the spade terminals at the driver for a tight connection - it's possible one of the spade terminals became loose and disconnected from the driver. If a spade did become disconnected, please gently crimp down the female section to create a slightly tighter fit and reconnect and then test for proper subwoofer operation.

If the spade terminals are tightly connected, please check the woofer next. Please touch a 9V battery to the pin connections inside one of the white plastic connectors attached to the woofer wires you disconnected from the amp. Use a pair of unfolded paper clips to reach the pin connections inside the white plastic connector per the below photos (the photos show red/black wires but your wires are brown/blue). When the battery voltage is applied to the white plastic connector, the woofer should then make a burping sound and move about 1/4" in one direction. This will mean the woofer is OK, and will then confirm it's a defective amp."

Hopefully it works. Thanks again to all of you. With love from India.
