No sound from blu-ray disc.

I can't get any sound when i play a blu-ray disc. DVD's play fine with sound though. I do get sound when i access the special features in the menu on the BD. My receiver supports all the HD audio formats. Are my settings wrong?

It sounds like the Bose system does not have decoders for Dolby Digital nor DTS so all your getting is Dolby pro-logic or perhaps only stereo...it could be that the Dolby decoder is defective or broken. also it may be your trying to use a n optical in connection instead of optical out...It could be the setting in the Blu ray player either bit stream or PCM try both as one or the other may work also the Bose system would have to be set up the same bit stream or PCM if its set to bit stream and then the Blu ray is set to PCM its not going to work....Bit stream is preferred but sometimes not possible.

Where exactly did you get all of that info? There are only a total of 3 sentences in both of the OP's posts.
