No Dialogue on samsung home theater

Hi all
I have recently brought a SAMSUNG HT-BD7200 home theater system.
the system is only a 2.1 system.
I have got it linked to my TV with an Optical cable and HDMI lead.
The speakers work fine with the TV and my IPOD, however when im playing a blu-ray dvd i dont get any dialogue, only the background sounds.

Ive tried all the setting but nothing seems to make any difference. I am trying to work out if its a fault system or if im doing something wrong. Im guessing that as it works fine with the TV etc its an error on my part!

any ideas would be much apreciated

if i had to guess its a problem with the blu ray player (or possibly receiver) anyway try it with other thing because if only the blu ray players doing this then its that. i would try using a different audio out on it. Also is this blu rays only or DVDs too

EDIT: not sure if this is possible but make sure your receivers set to stereo because things may be trying to come out the non existing center.

EDIT2: i just checked some reviews and apparently your not the only one and basically if you can return it, do to im sorry about this.

Or you could have the BD player go straight to the TV and then have the TV give the sound to the stereo. You said it works fine that way.

I have tried all the settings available and hasnt made any differance, so looks like im going to have to admit defeat on this one

only brought it a couple of weeks ago so hopefully wont have too much trouble trying to reture

Good Luck! And then buy some separate piece electronics, you can do much better anyways!

You need to have your blu-ray player downmix the audio into 2 channel.
And, running an HDMI and optical connection is redundant. HDMI carries audio and video signals.
