No CD (DVD & BluRay only) for Neil Young's upcoming Archive series!

Pretty interesting. I have no problem with no CD release for these, because that means high-res versions!

I'm just wondering what the difference will be between the BluRay and DVD version, higher resolution video or possibly HD audio too?

Anyway, this is something that could finally make me feel like I gotta have a BluRay player.

I was never a huge Neil fan......didn't dislike him, but not a huge fan. But when I saw he made an effort to release a lot of his stuff on DVD A he went up a lot in my esteem.......it showed me that he cared about SQ.

I have Harvest and After the Gold Rush on vinyl and they sound amazing. I think he's cared about sound quality for a long time.

I've been a big Neil Young fan from the beginning. But, let's face it, Neil ain't much to look at, and the years haven't done him any favors..(same for the CSN gang). Except for possible Dolby TrueHD/DTS MA audio, I can't imagine watching those guys in Blu-Ray. I'll be the first one in line for the audio tracks, however.

PCM Uncompressed 5.1 audio in all cases.

These are Videos in Blu-Ray taped with HD cameras and the image is so clear that you are in the room with the performers.

Audio in PCM 5.1 is better than any DTS recordings I have heard. Somewhat like SACD quality. See present selection at:

I am a Niel Young fan and own the DVD-A of Harvest. A few years ago I saw Neil perform on SNL, Keep on rocking in the free world IIRC. Even though I listened to that on TV speakers, I could tell that these guys had practiced that tune. It sounded great and the SNL audience showed there appreciation. Was that a standing ovation? Them boys take music serious.

IMO Ocala is the southern most point of the American South on the east coast. Once you go too far south down there, you're no better than a damn Yankee. I mean that in a good way.

The only thing I miss is the Cafe Cubano. They were tough to find in Broward, never mind New England.
