I have started a no/low budget project involving a spare 12.5'x13' bedroom that I am converting into my home theater. This is due to the wife's disapproval of all the speakers, screen, projector cluttering up the living room, which if fine with me. I think I can get a much better sound out of this room, especially with treatments(at a later date).

The room itself has only one window, a ceiling fan, one door and a closest. I went to Home Depot and picked up some paint(Behr Rich Mohogany) and Silverscreen for the DIY screen. Brian helped me figure my screen size of 92" which is a bit smaller than the 106" screen(due to the throw) I have so that is the reason for the DIY plus I want to experiment some with the different mixes the guys over at the AVSforums are using. So right now I'm just going to project on the wall with some 3-4" trim painted in flat black for the border.

So far I have the first coat of paint on and have replaced the ceiling fan with a 13" light fixture due to the ceiling fan's interferance of the projector. Will have some pictures up later tonight but progress is going to be non-existance for the next couple days due to soccer games in the evening.:p My goal is to have it done with all the equipment set up by the end of this weekend(ok, it has to be done by then cause I leave the following weekend:p )

Upon my return I would like to get a berkline 3-4 seat recliner and build some bass-traps and wall treatments as needed. Of course I'm going to need to acquire those nifty lightsabers Jeffsg4mac has.:p

Ok here is what I started with...

Room full of audio boxes.

Facing wall where screen will go.

The steep angle of the ceiling.

All the walls have 3 coats on them minus the wall where the screen is going.

Will be bringing in the projector with it's ceiling mount in tomorrow and get the screen outlined so I can finish painting the wall.

They are great.
Well, just take 900 pics of it, you are bound to get at least 1 better pic.:D
Clearly just trying to irk you....

Man, you are making me look bad.
It takes me 4 months to paint a room (procrastination)
And only takes you a week...

You seem pretty psyched about it, looks fine so far. Not a bad color.
Like I said though, it really darkens up that room.....
Now it is hard for you to take a pic in there.
Should be great for a HT room...
The speed at which I work is not by choice but I do better with tight deadlines.;)

I'm gunning to get the room finished by Friday now so I can get the equipment in and wired up. Then have the entire weekend to make adjustments and get it somewhat dialed in. I think I might pick up a futon tomorrow for a temporary fix so I have something to sit on besides a beanbag chair.

All the painting is done for now except the screen, going to try some different layers. The floor trim is going to be left unfinished.

Those lazy pricks! They didn't get my sectional wrapped in time for the delivery guys(contracted out I guess) so it didn't get delivered today. They refunded my delivery cost at least. Next delivery date is Tuesday.

Screen update, went back to Home depot after trying a few different paints on the wall with marginal results. The wall is just not smooth enough. So I was reading on AVS and found this thread and decided I give this do-able vinyl white panel.
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=617173

Will have it in place in a bit.

Methinks you need to even your mains out!

Other than that, it looks great! I really like your choice of color scheme. Very classy.

I have a small, narrow(16") table that I am going to use to place under the center channel that the receiver and DVD player will go on. It just needs to be sanded and stained which will eliminate the need for the current rack.
