No Audio Out from Pioneer VSX523k model

Hi,

I am trying to connect the pioneer AV 5231 model to my TV using HDMI cable. My TV supports HDMI ARC operation. TV Specs Vizio M420SV.

I have followed the process given the the pioneer manual. Did the HDMI setup etc. I am unable to get the sound from the receiver to my Bose Home Theater.

I tried connecting my ipod using USB cable to the pioneer receiver and it is working.

Do you think I should get an optical audio cable and connect from my TV to the receiver.

Just to double check: On the Pioneer, did you set the "ARC" setting to "On" as shown on page 33 of the owner's manual?

On the Vizio, did you turn the TV speakers off? That's shown on page 20 of the owner's manual. I don't know if that's required, but it might be. On some TVs, only some of the HDMI ports support ARC, so I checked the manual to look into that on your Vizio. It doesn't discuss ARC anywhere. I find it odd that, even though the Amazon page for that Vizio discusses ARC, the Vizio product page and manual do not (that I see) discuss it at all.

Its working!!!!!!
As per your suggestion I tried the other HDMI ports. For my TV model the HDMI ARC port is 4. I plugged in and its working perfect.
