Niles in-ceiling speakers

A few months ago I started a thread on in-ceiling speakers to solicit opinions on whether or not they are worth using as surrounds.

Long story short is that although I have added the appropriate wiring to place surround speakers on the side walls where they really should be, I would like to wait to see what SVS comes out with for their MTS/LTS-01 speaker package before I buy new speakers.

So...I'm thinking of spending a few bucks for in-ceiling anyway as an experiment and to tide me over until I make a decision on upgrading all of my speakers.

These Niles speakers caught my eye: http://www.onecall.com/ProductDetails.aspx?id=26634

I like the idea that they can be set to 'diffuse' to make the two tweeters fire out of phase - making them similar in concept to a dipole speaker. Has anybody ever used Niles speakers in general or di/bipole type in-ceiling speakers and could offer an opinion as to whether it would be a worthwhile stop-gap solution or a waste of $400?

I was always under the impression that the dual tweeter was for stereo applications where only one speakers was used to simulate stereo.

I think you are talking about 'stereo input' speakers where one speaker plays both channels.

These Niles speakers are normal speakers where you need two of them but each one has dual tweeters and the tweeters can be set to fire out of phase with respect to one another - the same as a conventional dipole speaker.
