Anyone remember this amp. I put this amp in the box years ago when I bought a Yamaha home theater receiver. But now that I'm upgrading to separates, I was wondering if I should fire up the Nikko again for rear channel duty. The amp is 2-channel and 100 watts per. It works okay, but its more than 20 years old. Just looking for some thoughts on whcih way to go. 5-channel, 3-channel and keep the Nikko, or new 2-channel to add to a 3-channel.

Thanks for looking.

I had the preamp, eq and tuner from that Nikko series but not the amp. Not really relevant but...

the only way to find out how the amp is going to work is to hook it up and see how it works out for you. I think it was decent equipment in it's day and amps don't really wear out or get obsolete.

Good point. I know the amp works as well as it ever had. I guess Im wondering with today's technology, whether I would do better with a newer amp. but on the other hand, I'm on the fence when it comes to "all amps sound the same," so that side of me says that the Nikko will serve me well for rear channel duty. We shall see.
