I'm finally upgrading my surround sound system. Finally got an LCD. I'm deciding between the denon avr-3805 ($400) vs denon avr-1610 ($300). Which one do you think I should get?

Depends on what you want 5.1 (75 watts per channel) and 7.1 (110 watts per channel) and what speakers you are driving.

If the 3805 is new, that is a very good price and for $100 more I would get it.

The one that has the inputs (HDMI 1.3a?) and features (DTS Master?) you need. If both? I'd go for the more powerful.

The one that meets your needs. If the 300 dollar one fills the bill then get that.
