Newbie w/ speaker set up questions

I am new to the site, and could use some advise on speaker settings and manual eq settings.

Reciever - Denon AVR-3805
Center - MBQuart QL330(6ohm)
Loudspeakers-MBQuart QLS830(4ohm)
Sub-NHT SW12

The Center Channel Speaker has a switch for Flat/+3db/-3db and I am not sure which is the proper setting?

Also, what would be the proper manael eq settings for each speaker? I know this is subjective to listening preferences but I am looking for a place to start. System is primarily used for Video and in a large open room. Do not have surround speakers yet. Thanks for any help.

The purpose of such a switch is to help you get the center speaker matched up with the mains. I would start at Flat and do the speaker level setup in your AVR. That should get each channel to sound roughly equal with the test tones.

However, placment of the center may still make it sound a little too high or low and the switch on the speaker may help with that. -3 dB to reduce the output and +3 dB to increase it.
