Newbie that needs some new receiver advice

Thanks in advance for the help. I've gone through thread after thread and just when I think I'm narrowing in on my answer for a new receiver I get confused and have more questions. Therefore here is what I could use some help on.

I need a new receiver as my current one is an Onkyo SR600 with problems and I'm moving to 7.1. I'm looking to spend under $1,000 unless there is a huge compelling reason given my needs to go higher.

Here is my current set up:

In-focus IN76 720p projector, hdmi & dvi
Bose Acoustimas satellites now wired for 7.1
Velodyne CHT-12inch powered sub
Dish Network VIP 622 DVR, hdmi
TBD - BD player, hdmi
TBD - Gaming Unit, either PS3 or Xbox, HD

Primary use is home theater (BD movie and TV, Sports and gaming last).

Priorities in order (outside of producing audio quality in-line with the quality level of my existing speakers as I don't want to under or over match them):

1) Take advantage of latest audio outputs and formats from the BD player and DVR
2) 3 or more HDMI inputs
3) Allow for pass through video as I'm not worried about upscaling or downscaling video as I'm happy with the Infocus scaler
4) Ethernet connection if at all possible, but I'm not willing to pay huge $'s to upgrade just for that.
5) Ease of use. All things being equal I'd like a receiver that has a decent interface and doesn't take a master user to set up. One that easily switches from BD audio to an HD football broadcast given the different formats.
6) Future proof unit, or atleast future proof for the foreseeable future

Again, I'm open to spending up to $1k if necessary. Thanks for the help.

Marantz or Yamaha

Marantz 7002 (MSRP $1399.99) for $849 from Hypathia Way; this is a killer price! http://www.pricegrabber.com/user_sales_getprod.php?masterid=62518885&lot_id=8173303 Marantz will honor their warranty from Hyptathia Way purchases.

Yamaha RX-V1800 (MSRP $1299.95) $795

You are not going to wan to hear this, but you biggest improvement in sound would be gained from replacing your speakers: Bose makes good marketing speakers not good sounding speakers.

For just over your budget @ 1075 it has networking with their homemedia gallery.the 92 is 799 without networking, and ive never used digitalcraze, but others have. Both of these receivers are more power than you will ever need for those bose:D In all honesty with those speakers you could look at the least expensive avr with 3 hdmi:D

Guys, I understand on the Bose issue. Once I get the receiver and the BD set I'll probably look to upgrade. The speakers came with the house as the Bose probably would not have been my choice.

Thanks for the recommendations. Starting to do some research on them now. Any boxes that others would recommend in addition to the ones listed above?

Thanks again guys

You're doing things backwards. Choose your speakers first and then worry about what receiver you need to power them.

That said, for $1k, I'd probably do a Yamaha 663 and Emotiva UPA-7 :D
