Hey everybody, I was wondering if the speakers I am thinking about getting are worth buying. I have also included the receiver I am buying as well.

Speakers: BIC AMERICA RTR-EV15 15-Inch 3-Way Eviction Series
Receiver: Pioneer VSX-1122-K 7.2-Channel

I was just wondering about the speakers and how quality the sound and build are. I am trying to go for cheap but not sacrifice quality on my speakers. If anybody has other suggestions, please let me hear them. Also, the system will be used for home theater and music as well. Probably more music than anything, but I don't want to sacrifice quality movie sound for music either. I guess I'm picky!!

The Eviction series were made to play loud - compared to overall
sound quality. Do you have a max budget.

I am trying to stay under $1000.00 but I am pretty much there with these speakers and the receiver. I would not mind too much going over my budget too much, but trying real hard to make it work within my budget.

Ok guys thanks for the info.

I was also wondering if I am to set-up 5.1 surround and do a second zone, would I want to use HDMI audio or Optical audio for the best sound quality. I read that optical audio doesn't support 7.1 so HDMI would be the best, but they also say that for 5.1 you should use optical audio for the best sound.

Just wondering what I should do about this.

You'll want to use good optical audio cables compared to HDMI. HDMI is good, but it is designed as an "all in one" solution for both video and audio. Optical is dedicated to audio alone so chances are that you can get more for your money. Either way, for a $1000 budget you'll be able to buy both quality HDMI or optical audio that are able to get the best out of your system. I would probably recommend HDMI for the convenience of being able to alter your system in the future, but be sure to spend 10% of your budget on quality cables
