Newbie setup question

Hi!

I bought Pioneer VSX531 AV receiver (130 W/ch (6 ohms, 1 kHz, THD 1.0 %, 1ch Driven))
on black Friday sales to replace dying LG home theater system without much research. When it arrived I realized that my speakers are junk, has 3 ohm resistance and sub-woofer is passive. So I decided to scrap all LG system I had, instead of returning AV receiver and get some decent speakers. Went for Q Acoustics 2050i (https://www.qacoustics.co.uk/q-acoustics-2050i-floorstanding-speakers-pair.html#specs) and I think I made another mistake. Despite they are quite well reviewed, power requirements are 25 - 150w @ 6ohms. Will I run into problems running speakers on this receiver?

Mistakes were made, lots of them... should have done some research first but Black Friday sneaked upon me :D

Thanks

You don't have to worry, those speakers will work fine with that receiver. You were smart not to run the LG system on that receiver though, that might have been a problem.

Welcome to the AH forum and glad to see your initial concerns met with a positive outcome.
I hope you enjoy your time here and come often when you are researching a topic or a buying decision.
There is a ton of accumulated audio knowledge here and its mostly free for the asking. Sometimes, you have to endure a lecture to get the answer, but hey, that's just sorta like talking to your grandfather. Sometimes you had to listen to his story before you got what you came for. Mostly benign.

Enjoy

Welcome to AH.

I thought it is predetermined when that comes. ;) You have plenty of time planning for the next one. :D
