Hi. New poster, and a rookie to boot...

I own a pair of Polk RT10 floorstanding speakers, purchased about 7-8 years ago (or so). I am primarily concerned with high quality music listening, although the occasional foray into surround DVD viewing is appealing. I just bought the Pioneer DV-578-A-S DVD player (SACD/DVD-audio as well)...so I can at least get into the SACD/DVD thing a little. I need to upgrade my receiver (at least I think I do). I currently have a low end Technics SA-EX400 (100W per channel I think). Can anyone recommend a good new receiver to drive this (in the 500-700 range)?...and if you are so kind, maybe some inexpensive "best buys" for center, surrounds, and a sub to round out my system?

Any info would be GREATLY appreciated...

What is your budget for a receiver? How about the center and surrounds? And sub? Do you like the music the way it was recorded, or "tweaked" with a bit more bass and high's? With SACD/DVD, you will definitely want to take advantage of the full surround set up.

I'd like to spend in the range of $400-$650 for a receiver. Generally speaking, I'd like to hear music the way it was recorded, but I would surely like to take advantage of what SACD/DVD-A has to offer. I don't want to spend a killing on the surround/center/sub, perhaps a ballpark of $150 ea for center/sub, and maybe a bit more for rears. Does this help at all?

Thanks for your suggestions...
