Newbie question on amp/speaker compatibility

Hi-

I have an old (~1993) pair of ADS M9 tower speakers. I am looking to buy a Denon amp (3805), but the amp only gives specs for driving speakers from 6 to 16 ohms. The ADS speakers are rated at 4 ohms each. Is this a problem?

Yes it will be a problem. If you buy the 3805, you will also need a dedicated amp capable of driving a 4 Ohm load.

If it's just the two that will be 4 Ohm, it may be OK, but a separate amp will pretty much guarantee that it will work. Do a search, there's already a pretty extensive thread about the 3805 and 4 Ohm speakers.
