newbie question about A/V cables

Hello all - first time poster here. I have been reading this site for a few days now and I must say I am impressed with the vast amount of knowledge here.
I was hoping to get some advice on the A/V cables for my system. My current system is entirely Monster Cable - yep $100 for 12 ft. of speaker wire. Anyway, I just bought a new TV, 56" Samsung DLP (very excited) and I am going to re-wire some of my stuff. Can you guys please list some other brands of cable that I might be better off with than Monster?
Thanks!!!

It won't be any "better" because Monster cable, like all decent cable, works as (theoretically) perfectly as any cable can. Now we can do "cheaper": RadioShack 'Gold' was the interconnect standard long before the internet brands popped-up. Just buy a spool of generic 12G at Home Depot for speaker cord.

So the Radio Gold stuff is OK??? I am needing to get a 1) 9ft component set, 2) 3 ft component sets, 3) a 9ft DVI cable and 1) toslink cable
I am ok on speaker wire

I don't know what the prices are on Radio Shack gold stuff, but it's high quality. So if the price is right, go for it. Right now Parts Express has a clearance on 2m Acoustic Research component video cables. The link is here. Also, if you need a longer cable, Knu Konceptz has a 4m component video cable for $18 plus shipping (should be $5 shipping). For a DVI cable, the best price I've seen recently is Blue Jeans ($50 for the size you need). Impact Acoustics sells a 3m cable for $99, but that will be around $80 with the 20% Audioholics discount.

Have you been happy with your Dayton and KnuKonceptz IC's? Thanks!

Yep, they're both very high quality items. They work as they should and are constructed well. The Dayton ones are from Parts Express (I think it's their house brand).

Radio Shack Gold is an excellent choice.

I am close to getting the cable thru parts Express and going with the Dayton stuff. I can get everything I need, a complete re-wire for under $150
Thoughts???

The only thing I'd be unsure about are the Dayton DVI cables. They SHOULD be good, but I honestly don't know.
