Hello Guys,

Here i am bothering the good guys with silly questions ... well it is 3 weeks i am trying to buy blu-ray reader - i read tons of forum and here we go again :(:(:( seems the blu-reader it is an important piece of the puzzle (audio& Video) .. due to a very limited choices i decided to spend few more $ then what i though i would

Pioneer DBP180 - only on order basis might take 3 months and about 690 USD
Yamaha BDs681 - only on order basis might take 3 months and about 600 USD
Marantz UD5007 - available but at 680 USD ... (good price but the model is 2012???)

I dont need 4k upscaling (my TV already is) - what i really need is one reader able to read my external HDD 2 TB were i put my movies . i use a mac so probably i need to use ExFat format for the HDD ... clearly good audio and video performance ...

I have another option which can help me to save some $ :) but i have no idea if it will work , i can find a Sony PS4 per 400 USD . Seems the PS4 have a very outstanding software , easy to use and good in graphic ... but what about the sound? does anyone ever used the PS4 as reader in a home theater system ?

Av - Marantz SR5009 for test and SR7010 (once i am sure i wont destroy the AV then i ll use the 7010
Speakers complete set with SVS prime
Sub SVS PB1000
TV 55'' Samsung Curve

Looking forward for some precious advise ...

Next choice would be Panasonic or Sony, Yamaha. I'd probably pass on Marantz and Pioneer.

Panasonic only distribute appliances - sony only have 3 models in the website from 2013 and all the 3 are phase out , Marantz just replied my mail that the UD5007 it is a machine made for windowzz and do not read external HDD only portable USB in fat32 - which means not HD movies can be seen via USB - so only remains the PS4 or Yamaha which still didn't know if can order the product ....

No way out - yamaha and Pioneer cant distribute anything here ... the only solution is Ps4 or Marantz - or i could have an Oppo BDP 103D shipped here will cost me around 750 USD ... but if something goes wrong no place where can be repaired ...

Hello Everyone ,

I end up buying locally the Cambridge audio CXU 1270 USD fair enough ... i have completed the system - everything works perfectly ... the SVS prime + marantz for music sound very good plenty of bass without the sub on and clear sound ... on movies i need to play around with the settings i wish to hear more high frequencies - i ll check if i find anything of the forum for the SR5009 - otherwise i ll just wait to install the SR 7010 ....

Samsung 55'' LCD
Cambridge Audio CXU
Marantz SR5009 & SR7010
