I hear a Loud chirping sound and all is well.(bass kicks in as well) I have check edthe connections and all seems fine. Anyone have suggestions??

Receiver problem

Sounds like it is time for an upgrade. Do you have the same problem with CD and FM music sources? If not, the receiver might be in the wrong DSP mode at the start of the movie and eventually gets a flag and changes to Dolby Digital 5.1

If you plan on upgrading I was an owned a Sony STR-DE845 and was extremely pleased with my switch to Yamaha. My dad owns a Sony STR-DA1ES and it is very clean sounding, but lacks a bit of depth in soundstage (perhaps because it uses 96khz/24bit DACs and my Yamaha uses nine 192khz/24bit DACS for the individual channels) but all in all a good sounding unit.

I would recommend auditing

Yamaha RX-V1600/2600
Denon AVR3806
Sony STR-DA3100ES (similar internals as the older STR-DA4ES but upgraded DACs)
Outlaw Audio Model 1070

When you say 'kind of quiet' then bam. How long of a warm up is this? How quiet is quiet? Total silence or some low sound but not normal level?
