I have narrowed most of the decisions around my home theatre setup with the exception of which receiver to buy and dvd player and what cables and ?conditioner? i will need. This is the setup I am pursuing right now that currently fits in my budget. I would like to keep receiver cost below 1800 and preferrably below 1000 if i am not giving up alot.
tv : mitsubishi 65" dlp diamond series
jbl cs6100 system or upgrade to cst55 floor / csc55 center/cs600 sat/css10 subwoofer
I also plan on purchasing a hd tivo as i love my old tivo and have lifetime subscription service.

I will be dumping comcast and will be using verizon fios tv with new setup.

I want ease of use as major consideration. Recommend a master remote to control everything?

Please dont spend 1-1.8k for a AVR to power that JBL system. A 300 buck Yammy would be plenty. Anyway to talk you out of that JBL series and into the Studio™ L Series and a SVS sub or even some speakers from another company?

The "L's" are good speakers but if I were you, I would drop the AVR budget and bump up the speaker budget. Do you have to go with JBL?

Does your buyers club carry all lines for each company or limited lines? Do you have to get your speakers from there? If yes then the JBLs will be the best choice.

I can order whatever i want from these companies over their product lines. I have always heard good things about JBL, considering i'm 44 years old myself, they have been around awhile...LOL

I'm a newb but unless you've got truly rockin' other components it seems like 1.5 to 2K is a lot for a receiver.

This link may be helpful:
Budget recommendations

To be of the most help:
1. What's your total budget?
2. How much $ [total] do you have left to play with?
3. What pieces have you already bought?
4. What will you be using the system? Music? Home Theatre? Both?
5. How big is the room that you're putting the system into?

Budget HT system

Check out this deal from AV123 for an entry level system with electronics for $1100 with the sub upgrade. It will sound much better than the entry level JBL speakers.

Also, you can get the URC RF20 remote with RF basestation for <$100 to control all your gear.
