I figured someone could help. Heres what im working with :

technics 1200 record player
technics receiver
Paradigm monitor 3 speakers

On the back of the receiver , it has 2 left and right A , and 2 left and right B . For some reason , when I use both "A speakers" only one speaker will work . Ive tried to use both "a speakers" and "b speakers" and still , only one speaker will play. I know both speakers are in working condition because i switched places , and both work.

The only way I can get both to work, is combining both positives , and both negatives, and placing them both in 1 positive conection , and one negative.

Also , the balance on the turner is right in the middle, still no luck. Any ideas?

I just switched the receiver to tuner , and both speakers work properly. Anyone know why my turn table isnt doing this ?

Welcome to the forum!

I'll need some clarification. Both speakers work fine when plugged in normally when you listen to the tuner, but not when you use the turntable - is that correct?

If that is correct, let us know and we can help you to narrow down what might be causing the problem. For example, you could switch the left and right input cables from the turntable going into the receiver to see if which speaker that plays changes. If it doesn't, then the issue is in the receiver. If it does, then it's somewhere in the turntable or the cables.

hey, thanks for the response . I figured out that I think the connectors from the turn table is whats causing the problem . I pushed the connectors from the turntable into the receiver extra hard, and I had sound in both speakers , but now its out again.

Its the right (red input from turntable) thats giving me the problem.

If you gently wiggle the right cable/connector coming from the turntable, does the sound in the right speaker go in and out? I'm wondering if the connector is coming loose from the cable.

wiggling the wires isnt doing anything. Im worried the rca cables are bad , I dont want to have to take appart the record player to replace the wires..

how would I know if the problem in the rca cable is at the connector that goes into the receiver , or if the problem is where its connected into the turntable ?

Try swapping the red and whit ended wires on both ends. red to white on both ends white to red on both ends.

if the same speaker makes no noise it's the connector. If the other one makes no noise it's the cable.
