Hi

I have quick question about the set up. I'm currently in setting up whole house music distribution system.

In one of the zones, I'm trying to hook 6 speakers.

Initially, I was going to hook 6 speaker wires into impedance matching speaker selector then to the amp (the amp has 120watt per zone..so at 4ohms 60watt per channel) and then to the controller.

but then I had extra amp (100watt ...so 50watt x 2) lying around in the house and thought it would be better to hook 4 speakers to the current amp and 2

speakers to the extra amp. then use RCA Y-connector from both amp to the controller without need to use impedance matching

speaker selector.

I wanted to ask which set up would be better.

Thank you in advance. Any input will be greatly appreciated!

I would use the RCA Y-adapter. You have it, it's not a bad way to go.

A multi-channel amp, designed for whole house audio is always best (IMO), because you select a single input on most amps to point your connection to. So, each speaker pair could get its own channel, then all the speaker pairs could point at a single input pair.

Thanks BMXTRIX for your advice.

The one of amp that has 120watt per per zone is actually multi-channel amp.

I just another curious thought...when I use impedance matching speaker selector to connect 6 speakers, it wouldn't have enough power.

Thanks again for your advice!
