Hello,
New to Vinyl. I need to buy speakers, turntable and preamp. This is the set-up I a m considering to go with my existing Yamaha RXV475.

Turntable: Project Essential 2

PreAmp: Cambridge Audio AZUR 551P Black

Speakers: Monitor Audio BRONZE BX2 Walnut

I'd like to know what you think of this set-up and any recommendations. Will also need a 20m phono cable, anyone know how much or can recommend one and there seems to be really expensive cabling - is it worth it or not for this entry level kit?

thanks Matt

Wait a minute. You want a 20m cable for your turntable????

Baaad Idea. That is way too long to be appropriate for a turntable cable.

So I would be better siting the turntable nearer to the amp I guess, which means it would be in a cupboard! :( What would you say would be the max distance?

Generally, three - four feet. Six max. Remember, the phono cartridge puts out a very low voltage and is susceptible to noise pickup.

But, if it's got a built-in phono preamp it can go a bit longer, but 20 meters is still pushing it.
