Pardon me for my simple question(s)....I am learning as I go along!! I have a decient home theatre in a box system with a sub that is not powered. Can I replace the sub with my Polk 200w powered sub? And, is it going to make a discriminating difference in overall sound quality? Please advise. Again thank you for entertaining my sophomoric question.

Sub connections

John,
Good question. If the new sub has speaker level connections, yes it will definately work with your HTIB. If the HTIB receiver has a line level (RCA) sub output singal, then any powered sub should work.

For tigher, cleaner bass than your HTIB, check out the Onix X-sub and HSU STF-1 in the $2-250 range.
