Newb spl phone app question

I've downloaded and tried a few spl apps on my phone, I know it's not ideal but free android apps is what I'm limited to. Does anyone have an opinion on which one to use? So far the spl meter has seemed the best, but, it measures an average of 50db in my house with no kids present and nothing going on. I adjusted my trims to average 83db with the test tone on my denon x-2400h. Current system is denon x-2400h, polk monitor 70ii left and right, jbl control 28-1 sub is polk psw10. Appreciate any guidance.

Believe using the avr test tones you'd normally aim at 75dB for each channel. I've tested a few different apps a while back, found them mostly the same as they rely on the phone mostly. What weighting scale were you using? Why didn't you use the Denon/Audyssey auto setup instead?

75db, I did not know that. As to what weighting scale, I'm not sure I know what you're referring to. Originally i did use the denon set up. I guess i just got the itch to start playing around with it, trial and error type thing. My house sucks, and the living room arrangement doesn't help. I guess I was trying to change things up a little.
