Hello everyone I am new to the board. I work for an a/v company in Tennessee as a programmer and installer. I've only been doing this for about 2 years, but I really enjoy it. I have played music (drums) for about 13 years.

My Theater consists of the following:
-Infocus IN72
-Boston VRi 553 center
-Boston Dsi480's up front
-Boston Dsi485's in the rear
-1- Velodyne 12" sub but the amp is blown so it's being pushed by a James Loudspeaker sub amp.
-Integra 7.9 receiver
-Integra HD DVD player

So here comes the big question (or series of them that is). I now want to set up a listening area for music only in another room. My budget is quite small but it seems that in the $200 and under range there are an endless range of possibilities. I have researched, researched and researched again and still can't decide. I know the only real way to tell is to go listen to some speakers, but that really isn't an option. The company I work for has currently sold every single piece of showroom gear we had to make room for all new stuff (whenever that will happen) and I'm a couple hours away from the nearest 'hifi' store.

So let's try it this way, I'll give you some ideas of what I've heard and like or don't like and go from there.

-B&W's: really liked them (I think they were cmd's?)
-LSA's: not sure which model, but I liked these as well
-Bay Audio Cubes: like these
-Pretty much every Boston speaker in the line with the exception of some of the newest stuff (VRi's, E series, on down). Haven't heard much of the older stuff like the CR's, etc.... I really like my Boston's in my theater.
-Klipsch: don't like these, horns are too harsh for me.
-Polk: know I've heard them, but can't remember how I feel about them.
-Jamo: great speakers I think for the money.

That's pretty much the extent of what speakers I've heard with the exception of some other inceiling/inwalls.

I mainly listen to rock, but love all sorts of music. Here are some examples: Foo Fighters, Emery, Muse, Pedro the Lion, Johnny Cash, Allison Krauss, Miles Davis, Frank Sinatra, Coldplay, Lovedrug........

As far as the amp I will be using, that is still kinda up in the air. I have a Technics su-g90? and can get an Integra stereo receiver cheap.

Here are some speakers I am currently considering that seem to be in my price range of around $200.

-PSB Alpha B1
-Boston: CR's, CS 23/26
-B&W: 302, 303, 601
-Mission: M71i, Esprit E50
-Infinity Primus: 152, 162, Beta's?
-Axiom M3 v2
-Polk Rti's
-your suggestions?

Your help would be greatly appreciated. Comparisons, characteristics, personal experience with any of these speakers, etc... would be great.

thanks,
Jesse
