Hey all,

I've recently purchased an Auton wall mount for my flat screen. It's really sleek and sturdy. I would definitely recommend them for AV gear, in case you hadn't heard of them before. What do you all use for TV mounts?

Sanus full motion. It does not appear they still make my model, but they've improved by widening the wall plate to mount on two studs instead of just one, which is why mine can only hold up to a 42".

Oh I see, well that is interesting. I would suggest that when you're ready to make the upgrade, looking at the Auton P4263T-A which looks like it holds up to a 63" although I think they have bigger ones too, in case you want to go bigger.

Thanks! I'm happily waiting until OLED is more commonplace, but have also considered front projection!

I have a new 55" TV and wanted to mount it on the wall above my AV stand (a low one) and between my floorstanding speakers. Initially I wanted to be able to move the screen out to where the face of the speakers are, some 26" away, so an articulating mount was needed. To make matters more complicated, there's a wall stud directly in the middle of where the center of the TV would be, so if I had a mount straddling two adjacent studs the mount would be off center by 8" or so.

I found THIS wall mount, which uses four 1/4" x 2-1/4" long lag bolts, aligned vertically on a single stud. It allows me to put the screen right where I want, which turns out to be about an inch closer to the wall than the back end of the speakers. The TV can still be seen from anywhere in the room without speakers encroaching upon the full view of the screen. Absolutely ROCK solid, the only complaint being that it's a little to easy to swing side to side. It only moves if I'm deliberately repositioning the TV, stays in place otherwise.

There's no brand name whatsoever on the unit nor it's installation manual, typical of a Chinese made product though excellent quality it appears to be. I should say that because I knew the TV would be well away from the wall, I did not want to see a huge ugly frame bolted to the wall. This one looks very neat looking behind the TV.

EDIT: Added photos of the mount itself.

I just ordered one from Parts Express:
Dayton Audio Shadow Mount HD3260ARM Heavy-Duty Full-Motion TV Wall Mount
Currently [12Dec2015] on sale from $US 80 @ $US 55
I wanted an articulating mount so that I can put the TV (43" Plasma; mount spec claims up to 150# or 60") at eye level and either pull it out in line with the L-R front speakers for video or move it back against the wall (spec is 4") and use my turntable and disk player at a good height for comfortable operation for audio-only listening sessions.

It has very good reviews at Parts Express, whom I find to be reasonably hands-off when it comes to reviews, but you still have to be cautious when reading *any review* posted on a reseller's website.

I will post back with a brief review once I receive it and get it operational.

I like this model as well, and I think your setup looks very clean. I would imagine that the single swivel has something to do with your easy swinging problem. I'm sure this is not a problem while the TV is in use, though, so you should be fine.

I assume you're addressing my post. The mount isn't presenting any problem with the easy swivel at all, as long as I don't put a hand on it and deliberately move it.

The longer I've had it, the better I like it. BTW, it's not really "single swivel" or I don't know what you mean. In my photo it's secondary arm is folded nearly flat against the back of the TV. With two equal length arms it allows any extension length while keeping the TV centered, or you can shift to either side easily.

Be sure to sit down and give it a good listen in both positions. My similarly sized plasma creates an audible dead space in the sound stage when pulled out more than, say, 12".

Interesting. Where in relation to the front of the speakers would your plasma screen be when you extend it that distance?

I had my screen out to 1 inch behind the faces of the L-C-R speakers with no ill effect. Now however it all looks better with the screen face now at the back end of the speakers and speakers just barely don't intrude upon the view of the screen from any seat in the room.

Well, for the last 6 months I've had quite a few speakers passing through, almost all of which were rear ported. But of the several times I've pulled the screen out, it sounds terrible.
