So today my new plasma tv arrived, panasonic 42-pwd7uy, get it out of the box, attach it to set top box via coaxial to bnc connector. No signal. Frustrated, but not deterred, I try connecting the video from the settop box to the panel. No signal. Settop box to A/V Receiver (Denon 2805) through the digital coax input on, componet to plasma. No signal. 3 hours of messing with it an no signal (can get sound, but no video). Tried connecting my computer to the plasma through S-Video cord and it works. Any ideas? Aldephia cable, motorola set top box.

Ya got a DVD player to use as a video source?

Try using them for a source. The DVD should have at least composite and/or S-video. Try them thru the same inputs you tried with the cable box. If the inputs work with the DVD player, you've isolated the problem to the box.

Of course, I'm assuming the cable box isn't outputting an RF signal... is it?

Maybe I'm old fashioned and out of the loop but I haven't seen a whole heckuva lot of BNC connectors on home equipment. Well, a few for component I/O but I doubt the cable box supports this.

Also trying tech support of your cable company. They may help, they may not, but it's worth making a call IMO.
