Hello everyone, I'm new here and really glad that I found this club after I tried many hours to figure out my issue without success. I just moved into my new house with home theater system that use Yamaha HTR-5760 Receiver. All the devices are in the closet separated from the tv. I have LG Blu-ray/DVD player and Directv receiver are connected on the receiver by using monster cables and thru where the tv is located. These two devices work with no problem when I switch the input from the receiver. Now I have tried to connect my laptop using s-video cable to the receiver using its Video Aux input in front. I could hear the sound but no picture on my tv. From my observation, I think the s-video cable from laptop to receiver video aux input is not compatible to monster cable to the tv. Am I collect or wrong on this? is there a way I can make this work? Using some kind of converter maybe?

Please advice and thank you for your time:)

Welcome to the forum! Sorry that I missed your original post. Let me take a look at your owners manual and I'll get back to you. It might be a limitation on video conversion. How is your receiver connected to the TV?

Thanks Adam for responding to my post. My house is pre-wired thru the wall so I use Monster component cables connect the TV hanging on the wall. I'm not sure what kind of cables from the wall behind the TV running to the Yamaha receiver but I also use Monster cables to connect the Blu-Ray/DVD player and the Directv receiver from the Yamaha receiver and they work perfect. I hope this explanation help you to help me figure this out.

Ed:)
