New to Vinyl, should I choose Project DEBUT iii or Rega RP-1?

Hi guys, being new to the forum, please be nice.:) I'm in NZ, here the Rega RP-1 is about 100USD more expensive than DEBUT III, I would consider them the same. By the way, here in NZ, we don't have DEBUT III esprit, and not yet have DEBUT III carbon, agent says the carbon shipment will arrive in ONLY 2 month.

Which one shall I choose? I'm mainly into classical and pop, sometimes easy listening, too. Currently have Naim Nait5i and Warfedale OPUS1, also got a TEAC Reference A-H500, can work as a MM phono stage at the moment.

Looking at youtube, finding some video regarding the terrible wobble platter of RP1, shall I worry about that? I guess I should go to a real shop and ask for open box demo before I buy?

Need opinion. Thanks. :D:D

If you can hold off two monthes, I would suggest the Carbon over the DebutIII. As I was picking up my Xpression III, I looked closey at the Debut and the Carbon and the Carbon looked and felt better than the Debut. Not that the Debut is a bad table. Its not. Its actually very good for the money but for nearly the same price as the Debut, the Carbon is a better table.

Thanks for the reply.

The NZ RRP of matt black DebutIII is 649 NZD and Xpression III is 999 NZD.
What's the difference between Carbon and Xpression? It seems they have the same arm. So I guess the motor and bearing is better on the Expression, and of course the platter?

I guess the Carbon would be close to 800 NZD here...... HIFI market in NZ is so tiny and no competition at all, dealers are all very greedy....:(:(

HFI is greedy in general but I can understand how it can be worse in NZ. I think the Carbon should sell very close to the price of the Debut.
