I have been a serial changer of audio kit for some years now. Upgrades here, downgrades there. Won on some deals, lost on others.
Yes in part it's a hobby, but mainly the changes are due to never being entirely satisfied...until very recently.
I had Simaudio Moon electronics after having found speakers I like (Dali), but with the Moon, while very good, I just was not excited about my music, as much as I tried....the Moon was just too polite...too reserved.
Recently I tried Plinius electronics and if that did not work, I was going to try KEF speakers (Blade 2)....but within 10 mins of hearing the Plinius, I was grinning....very muscular delivery, but with the return of something that was missing....musical engagement.....emotion....just pure satisfaction. After several hours things only got better.
It made me ponder if that happens to a lot of people, resulting in a lot of changes, so finding a dealer who knows how to match kit may be rarer than we think!
Finally I have a combination of electronics and speakers that for me, in my room make sweet music together....I just might have found my long term keepers....!
