I'm interested in purchasing a home theater system and this is what I'm looking for:

*Wireless
*Able to plug in my Xbox to the system
*Good enough sound to accomodate a small living room (Condo Sized)
*I have digital cable if that matters
*Looking to spend 300-600

If you have any suggestions of a good starter system that can meet the above requierments I would greatly appreciate it.

Wireless is a myth. Speakers need power.

At your budget, you are in the HTIB (home theater in-a-box) range. So, something like the Onkyo HTS-780 system may be about all you are looking to get. There are a couple of systems with wireless rear speakers... Wireless meaning you still have to plug them in at the rear of the room. But, I know very little about them.

Any A/V receiver allows you to plug your gaming into it. Video can be run directly to your TV - and I'm sure you aren't looking for a TV as well at this price point. So, the X-Box video goes to the TV, and the X-Box audio goes to the audio system.

Wireless rear speakers is what I was referring to. Yes HTIB is what I was looking for, but if those rear wireless systems are terrible I can handle the wires. Would it make a difference if I upped my price range to $800.00?

HT / Gaming system

Yes, for $6-800 you are out of HTIB range and can get any entry level receiver and bookshelf system. Check out these options:

Reciever: ($200)
Yamaha HTR-5840
Onkyo 502 OR 503

Speakers and Sub: ($4-600)
* Athena Audition AS-B1 (2 pairs) and AS-C1 with Cadence X-Sub
* BIC Venturi bookshelfs (2 pairs) and Center with Cadence X-Sub
* HSU STF-2 and Ventriliquist speaker system.

Since you will be using your system for HT and gaming, you will appreciate the improved performance of a Bookshelf system with a good sub over a HTIB system. You can also gradually upgrade to a full HT by holding off on the purchase of the surround speakers until later.

I've decided to grab the Athena Micra 6 for speakers to start with.

Does anyone have advise on a reciever for around $2-300?

I would suggest the Sony Dream systems wireless, but I've read that the wireless just means no speaker wires you'll still have to plug them into each other and into a wall socket...also the quality is bad since it is wireless...
