I'm new here, and listned to the advice givenin my first thread. I've made some decisions on what I want out of my HT system. I will use my system mostly for music, about 60%. I'm not into gaming, no kids or grand kids. Current equipmet worth saving(for a while) is a set of Koss towers and a cheep dvd and cd player. They will booth do for a while. Tv is a new panasonic 50 plasma. Home theater would be set up in a family room, 18x22. the room is open to the kitchen , has a large bay window and a fireplace in it.
I don't think that a 7.1 system would be able to be set up right in it. Budget is 800-1200 for a reciever/preamp amp set up. speakers 2200-3000.

What i would like is wome recomendations for a set up. I've read quite a bit, reviews and comments from the members.
My first thoughts for a set up is going with a denon 2708, emotiva lmc/lpa. Any other sugestion on what to look at? one other thought was to buy the emotiva mmc and use the lpa and upgrade the amp later. Speakers, becouse of the size of the space I was wanting to use front towers (i like towers). As a starting point I was considering the axium 50's or 60's combo or the av123 rocket 450's or 760's.would like to here them both before I made a decision.
All of this would be bought a little at a time, reciever first (mine has seen better days) then the fronts, surrounds and finally the sub.

Any comments are appreciated.

JMO, but when your looking at speakers in the $2200-$3000 range I feel your better off with a receiver that is packed with features compares to a Pre/Pro set-up. Most of the speakers you'll be looking at will be efficient enough.
