Ok so I am looking to upgrade the home theater setup in my house to match the quality of what I have in my car.

I would like to try to keep this as cheap as possible and it might help that I already have some speakers and subs laying around. (Not sure if they are usable as they are designed for car audio but worth a shot)\

I also have the tools, materials, and experience to build speaker and subwoofer boxes and do all of the work myself.

So I need to know what kind of parts i will need. I use the setup for playing xbox, listening to music, watching movies, and general entertaining. Bass is very necessary as we tend to play a lot of bass heavy music.

The equipment I have laying around consists of:
2 MTX TR55's
a bunch of selenium 6w4p's
a bunch of selenium st350's
a set of rockford fosgate P1694
and 4 Quantum audio QS2TW's

I wuiold like to keep this under 1000 if at all possible.

If I have left anything out please ask me questions and I will answer them to the best of my knowledge.

OK, sell all that stuff and add it to your $1000 budget...:D

Buy 2 of these Dayton Audio 15" Ultimax Subwoofer and Cabinet Package 300-7097
1 of these to power the subs Amazon.com: Crown XLS1500 Power Amplifier: Musical Instruments
that will put you around $900

Just kidding.. that would be your entire budget on subs, crazy rite?? or is it... that would be INSANE bass though...

OK, $1000 and bass heavy..

you can get 2 polk psw505 12" subs for $400 {sales on amazon and newegg every other week... that will give you a lot of good bass...

Now for speakers, since you sound like loud and music quantity is important I would look into...
Amazon.com: BIC America Venturi DV64 2-Way Tower Speaker, Black (Single): Electronics
Amazon.com: BIC America DV-62CLRS 6-Inch 2-Way Center Channel Speaker: Electronics
Amazon.com: BIC America DV62si Bookshelf Speakers (Pair, Black): Electronics

and for an AVR Onkyo TX-NR414 5.1 Home Theater 3-D Ready Network A/V Receiver | Accessories4less or any avr you see that you like and fits your budget....

Well I guess I can leave my car for the insane bass...
(for those who are wondering or just want to see... Video showing my car)
I would like for ?It to be able to be loudish for when we play music for parties and stuff but then clear surround sound when watching movies and playing games.
Would it change what you recommended if I told you that the room is already set up for in ceiling speakers on the back channel?
And I'm assuming you were meaning get two of the towers for the front, the center channel, and two of the bookcase for the rear?

Correct me if I'm wrong on anything here.
