Here are what I narrowed down the choices to. I am trying to keep this at about $5000 so the 2700 TV, 999 Reciever, and 2062 Speakers are a tad out of the budget. Were would be the happy medium to get close to this budget? IE what should I skimp out on?

So you think the panny is better plasma than the mitsu lcd? Should I save the 800$ and do the larger screen? I am not sold on needing a 50" over a 46", but for 1080p I dont think the plasma has it in this price range either. Is the panny a 1080p?

Nice savings on the Yamaha HTR-5990, would you reccomend it over the other 2 Yamaha's I have listed? what are the advantages. I am truely a newbie at this AV stuff. I generally want to use my system to watch movies, listening to music is not as important to me.

And which speaker setup do you reccomned? from the sounds of it, you reccomend I skimp on the recieiver getting the 500$ one, skimp on the tv for the 1800$ one, so I have 2500$ for speakers.

If you can use a DLP, the deals on the Samsungs are hard to beat. I would also go with a Samsung LCD.

I would also recommend Polk Audio, with an HSU for your budget.
