I am in the market for a new home theater system (first one) and Best Buy recommended a Pioneer Elite VSX-03TXH receiver.
In addition to the HDTV upconvert, I need an ipod interface, ability to have 2 zones with separate volume/outputs (one for outside speakers playing music while the main zone has the TV on). I also like the idea of having XM available.
I have an old Pioneer unit and feel a sense of brand loyalty. I haven't bought a receiver in over 20 years. My question is, has anyone had any problems with this unit? Should I consider others with the same options? I am having a wall unit installed and have a month or so to make the purchase. They quoted $750, and I'm not sure if I should jump on it or wait for a better sale. I haven't seen much posted on it.
